Seers CMP allows you to configure Google Consent Mode in two different ways:
1️⃣ Basic Configuration (Tags Blocked Before Consent)
2️⃣ Advanced Configuration (Tags Not Blocked Before Consent)
This guide explains how to set up both configurations to ensure compliance with Google's requirements.
1. Basic Configuration (Google Tags Blocked Before Consent)
By default, when installing Seers CMP via Google Tag Manager (GTM), Google tags are automatically blocked until user consent is obtained.
Steps to Set Up Seers CMP via GTM:
- Install Seers CMP through Google Tag Manager.
- Google tags will remain blocked until the user clicks the Allow button on the cookie banner.
- This ensures compliance with privacy regulations by preventing tracking before consent is granted.
2. Advanced Configuration (Google Tags Not Blocked Before Consent)
If you enable the Advanced Consent Mode, Google tags will not be blocked before consent and will fire immediately.
Steps to Enable Advanced Consent Mode:
- Navigate to the Consent Mode settings in Seers CMP.
- Click Add Setting.
- Enable all the options for advanced consent.
- Click Add to save the configuration.
🔹 Now, all tags will fire before the user interacts with the banner (i.e., before clicking the Allow button).
Choosing between Basic and Advanced Consent Mode depends on your compliance needs and tracking preferences. Basic Mode is recommended for stricter privacy compliance, while Advanced Mode allows data collection before user interaction.
