What is WCAG 2.2?
The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) created and published the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) as part of their Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI). The guide is a set of instructions for making information accessible to individuals with disabilities. Following these guidelines also increases the accessibility of content to web browsers and devices with limited functionality.
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2) are designed to make the content accessible to people with disabilities. It is not required to follow these standards, but it would be fantastic to add them.
WCAG principles
WCAG consists of four principles
- Perceivable: The users should be able to perceive all of the information and components presented.
- User-operable: The user must operate the interface, and the navigation components should be user-operable.
- Understandable: The user should easily understand all of the information and how to operate the interface.
- Robust: Content must be accessed and strong enough to be interpreted reliably by a wide range of user agents, including advanced devices.
